Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas

A minor change in a will.

If my mother had an attorney draw up a will but there is just one or two things she wishes to change, must she go through the attorney and pay all that money again to change it, or, is there a simple way to amend those particular simple items by initials etc. with a witness perhaps vs. incurring the cost of redoing the entire will. Would this be legal and valid if done so?.

Re: A minor change in a will.

If you mother makes changes o her own, she risks invalidating the entire will. At the least, she should have an attorney examine the will she has now and then advise her as to the best way to make the changes she wants. She might not have to start all over.

Good Luck
