Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas

Do I still have to go through probate?

My aunt recently passed, she left a will naming me as executor. She also left her bank accounts as 'payable on death', as well as a 'transfer on death deed' of her house to me. These are her only assets.

Having been an executor before, I understand the process of closing out her estate and notifying/paying creditors, taxes, etc. My question is, in this case, do I still have to file the will with probate?

In my situation, it seems she's taken all the proper steps to avoid going through the probate process.

Re: Do I still have to go through probate?

All wills should be probated even if only to have the will recorded. It is not official until probated. This should not be an expensive process.
