Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Kansas

Voiding a Will

I had a Last Will and Testament drawn up by an attorney in Kansas. I now live in Missouri. The specifications in the Will are no longer my wishes and I would like to void the Will. What do I need to do? Do I need to contact the attorney that prepared the Will?

Re: Voiding a Will

There are a few ways that you can void or repudiate your will. You can burn it, or cut it up into little pieces, or put big black X's all over it with the words ": voided by _______ on day/month/year. Either way, you should write a letter to the attorney that drafted it, telling him that you have destroye the original, and woish to void that will. However, the best way is to make anew valid will, in it you can mention that it supercedes that previous will. You should notify anyone who might have relied upon your orevious Will, that you are voiding it.

Good Luck
