Legal Question in Disability Law in Kentucky

Company oveturns doctors opinion on work boots.

A decision was made by management that people that had been exempted by the company doctor from wearing safety boots with metatarsul guards would no longer be allowed to get these boots without useing the ADA.Most of these people have been wearing this type of boots for years because of medical reasons. This is a cost saveing move. Is this legal?

Thank you.

If the company doctor recommended that these people wear the boots than the company should comply. If however the company doctor stated they were unnecessary I would recommend that those people get notes from their own doctors and submit them to the company. If this doesn't work than your company needs to be spoken to by an attorney to inform them of employees rights. If you need any additional information please feel free to give me a call at 888-563-8529. Good luck.
