can i keep my homeif i file chapter 7? both my husband and I are disabled and receive ssi and ss. these checks amount to $1031 monthly which cnnot pay for the house payment and utilities..

No, unless you can afford the payments on your house, neither Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 will allow you to keep your house. However, you should look into a home loan modification. Under new rules going into effect on June 1, modification can happen before or during bankruptcy.
