Legal Question in Consumer Law in Kentucky

I am a customer at a local hardware and went to get a set of expensive pair of trimmers fixed. They told me it would be a while to fix it. They said it would need a new carborator and have to order it off ebay more than likely. They said they could give me an estiment and go from there. I was told because of the season they had alot of work and it could be four to six weeks until they could even look at them. called six weeks later and did not get through. They never called me during any of this time.I went to the hardware store and was told that they through them away and they through all there inventory away after thiry days if they dont speak to the customer. I was upset and left not understanding what I could do about. I was nevered call like promised and was even told a longer period of time to just look at them to really figure out what was wrong with them then what supposably the time period was for them to through them away. I never ageed or had knowledge of that or had aclue that that was possible. I do feel something is wrong because of the fact they looked for my stuff for almost thirty minutes until another guy popped out and told me that they through them away possibly and its over they cant do any thing for me. So please if I could get any opinions or information on this I would appreciate it very much. The trimmers were valued around four hundred dollars and that is a great deal to me and can not replace them no time soon. Thanyou john

You could try to file a small claims complaint against them on your own or with an attorney to get the value of the trimmers back. You may have to prove to the court that you left the trimmers with the hardware store and that you owned them previously and the cost to replace them or current value, but overall it should not be very difficult.
