expundment

my wife has something on her records from 5 years ago can she get it expund

Your wife may be able to have the record expunged. If it was an acquittal or the case was dismissed, then it can probably be expunged without any issues. If it was a conviction, there are other criteria that must be met for the court to be required to expunge the record. She should contact an attorney to discuss the matter.

If she was convicted of a misdemeanor more than 5 years ago, and hasn't gotten any other convictions since that time, and had no record for 5 years before the charge being expunged, then yes, she may be able to expunge the record. If it was a felony, then no. If she wasn't convicted, the charge was dismissed, or was diverted and she completed diversion, then she can expunge the record under more lenient standards.
