Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

how long will a misdeamenor stay on my record

I pled guilty to a shoplifting charge paid my fine and done my probation. This was 7-8 years ago. I just got turned down for a job at a local hospital because of this. Is there anything I can do to remove this or am I always going to have this follow me.

Thank you
