Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

phone harrassment

My ex-husband has filed phone harrassment charges against me because I left him called him a few times and left a few (maybe 5) messages regarding our adult son when he was having legal and personal problems. He is not a very nice person; and is a registered sex offendor by his 4 year old daughter from a marriage after our divorce several years ago.

I probably should never have contacted him, but I needed some emotional support and wanted to keep him updated on our son's problems (like I thought he would care). He verbally and mentally abused me, and harrassed me terribly during and after our marriage; but, I never pressed charges because I didn't want to make it harder for our son. I even have a witness that he broke into my home after our divorce and stole something. Can any of this be mentioned when I go to court?

I have an attorney, but I'm not sure how hard he is going to try. I am a nurse, and I do not want this on my record. Any advice you have would be helpful. I go for a hearing this Thursday. Please don't post this on the internet.

Re: phone harrassment

First, if you don't have confidence in your attorney, maybe you should hire someone you have more faith in. Some of the things you mention a judge might allow testimony on, but don't be surprised if most of it isn't allowed to come in under the rules of evidence.
