Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

richmond, kentucky - my girlfriend was charged and endited for flagrent non support; for 3 years she did not know she had to pay child support, she is also charged and endited for bail jumping and was extrdited from florida. She has absolutley no criminal record, never charged with anything, nor has she ever spent time in jail prior to this. she has over 130 days served and they want to give her 3 years running consecutive for these charges. I hired an attorney and he cannot get the charges ammended lower or get her probation or even get the prosecuter to offer a better deal, THIS IS HER FIRST EVER OFFENSE, why do they want to railroad her so bab? Please help

This is something you want to discuss with her attorney, not attorneys who don't practice in that jurisdiction. Each case is different, and a lack of prior criminal history only means the charges aren't enhanced, not that someone is going to get a slap on the wrist for several felony charges. There is both prosecutorial discretion and judicial discretion on the charges and the sentencing, respectably.
