Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

skipping court

My 19 yr old son was caught driving without license, no insurance on vehicle, no current tag. He appeared in court first time and was scheduled to go back on a particular day and time. He skipped the second court date with the excuse of no one to take him. He did not call and make other arrangements. What can happen to him now??? He says for me not to worry about it. Is this a crime ????

Re: skipping court

There is probably a bench warrant out for his arrest based upon his failure to appear in court as directed. He likely has also been reported to the Dept. of Transportation to have his driver's license suspended. If he is stopped for speeding (or anything else), there is a good chance that, instead of getting a ticket and being released, he will be taken into custody and go to jail....
