Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Kentucky

Loss of job

I was pregnant and the doctor put me off work, so I took my doctors statement to work and filed for short term disability. I was terminated the same day I turned in my doctors statement and I lost my job,my disability and insurance. I have tried to get rehired and I am unable to get anyone to talk to me about why they wont hire me back. Since then I have not been able to find a job with benefits. I worked at that job for 14 years, before I was terminated.

Re: Loss of job

It is unlawful to discriminate against an employee because they are pregnant or need to use leave under the FMLA. It is also unlawful to terminate an individual's employment to interfere with their receipt of benefits. It may very well be the case that your employer has run afoul of the law, however, I would need more information from you to ascertain the specific applicability of the aforementioned laws.
