Legal Question in DUI Law in Kentucky

Police Roadblocks

Are state police allowed to set up a roadblock/checkpoint in order to catch one certain individual who they have been told is probably driving drunk? And, are state police required to inform local law enforcement as to what the exact purpose of the roadblock is? I know there are laws regarding roadblocks concerning how and why they are to be conducted. Thanks.

Re: Police Roadblocks

There are restrictions on where, when, and how road blocks are setup, but to say it was done on the fly to catch one person is probably a stretch.
