Re: can they do this?

You don't say, but I am assuming that the children were removed from your home. Usually a report only causes an investigation and cannot be used as the sole basis for removal. There must be something else to corroborate the removal. You should have recieved copies of the petition and order confirming removal and these will set out the grounds. There will also be a 72 hour hearing to determine continued custody, a later adjudication hearing and then a subsequent disposition hearing. If you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed for you. You are entitled to know the reasons and you are entitled to court hearings. See an attorney in your area.
