My ex-wife wants me to pay half of everything

My son turned 16 and my ex-wife emailed me wanting $1500 TO Help buy my son a car and also to pay half his insureance and now she has mention college she wants me to pay half of that also.We got divorce in 1995 and i have paid C.S and 83%medical and use to pay 90%child care..My question is if she takes me back to court can the judge make me pay for her lawyer and for college and does the judge take in consideration that I have remarried and have two children to provide for also or does that not matter..do they just look at the dollar??and also my son had a kid and my ex wants me to pay half of his C.S (i was told i do not have to pay c.s for a grandchild it doesn't matter if my son 16 or not )thank you

Be aware that any particular judge may make all sorts of decisions that are not supported by law - so my answer is based on what a judge is most likely going to do and what the Court of Appeals would say that judge should do.

I am assuming you did not agree to pay for such items as second generation child support, cars and such. There is NO basis in law for you to be responsible for buying your son a car, paying for college or for your son's child support obligation. I think you are on safe ground in saying no. I also think you are more likely to get attorney fees awarded to you if your ex drags you back to court that she is.

If she does file a motion for these items, I recommend you at least consult with an attorney face to face to cover all the facts of the case.
