Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Family Court - Dissolution of Marriage Civil Summons - Response/Answer Required.

I need to submit a written defense to the court to avoid default judgement, I cannot find any form to do so with. This is in Bullitt County, Ky / Louisville, Ky.

Thank you!

From your question, it appears that you have been served with a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage from the Bullitt Circuit Court. You must respond in writing, within 20 days. There is no "form" for your answer. It must have the same style as the Petition (Name of parties, case number, certification that a copy has been mailed to your spouse's attorney). You should list all the claims in the Petition and indicate whether you admit or deny each claim. You may also wish to file a Counterclaim along with your Response. Original, signed copies, of each document need to be filed in the Circuit Court Clerk's Office, in Shepherdsville. The best advice I can offer is that you need to seek the advice of an attorney; either in Shepherdsville, Louisville, or Elizabethtown. Important matters such as child custody, support, and division of property are involved in cases like this, and any temptation to save money by "doing it yourself" can end up being quite costly for you.
