Are verbal agreements binding in a marriage dissolution?

They are as good as their word - meaning no, they usually are not binding.

Since emotions typically run high in divorces and highly emotional people tend to act less than honorably at times, I doubt you would find many judges that would uphold an oral agreement between parties. If it is made by the attorney's of the parties, then it will likely be binding.

Some oral agreements are never binding because of the Statute of Frauds - such as agreements regarding the sale of real property.
