Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

I was married to a man for almost 8 years. We are now in the process of a divorce because he left me. He has a life insurance policy that is now being paid for by his old employer due to the fact that he had a heart attack while we were married and is not on permanent disability. While we were married I was a stay at home mother and then I took care of him 24/7 for almost 4 years after his heart attack. I want to know if I should remain 50% beneficiary on his life insurance policy even after the divorce. What are my rights.

If you agree upon maintenance/alimony or a judge awards it too you, it is reasonable to ask that he be ordered to keep you as 50% beneficiary. The danger is that the policy would lapse and then it would be too late for the court to make it right, but given his health, that might be the best you can do in the circumstances.
