Notary

How do you do the notary in a petition for dissolution of marriage if the parties live in different states?

I suggest having a spot for each party to initial on each page and then just having two separate places (pages even) for each party to sign with a notary of their state. The agreement does not have to be executed by both parties at the same time and the initials insure pages are not swapped out. One party signs and mails it to the other party to sign, then return it for filing.
