Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

paternity / fraud

I found out that my double cousin fathered a child that was blamed on me {paternity 99.33} I could not be ruled out, can I take the Mother and the cousin to court to prove he is the Father? This paternity test happened 18 years ago because the child wanted proof I was the father {the child was 17 at the time} and the mother had never ask for child support or wanted me to see the child I think the person should be told the truth. The person does not talk to me and would not believe it without a paternity test. The father was under age at the time of conception, I was not in the state until a month later and they set up a date for me with her so she could say I was the father she was a nurse and knew we would have the same blood type, then when they started dna, our dna is so close one can't be ruled out without both being tested. I did not know all of this at the time

Re: paternity / fraud

It is hard to say whether there is any court involvement already based on yuor question. If there is, then there is a good chance of bringing the cousin in as a "necessary party". If not, there are a couple of possible causes of action that come to mind - there may be a defamation claim where damages are presumed or there may be a fraud claim but you would have to prove damages/injury. It may be worth consulting with an attorney and laying all the facts out.
