Social Security Number

I am recently divorced. Am I allowed to file for a new social security number.

you need to chamge your name on your social security card, which is relatively simple to do by going to the local office and requesting a form. i do not think you will get another number, but can ask if you have other reasons for doing so (fear of someone using your number, etc.).
