Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Temporay cusdity, overiding custody already set

Last summer, I let my childern visit ex in-laws in Ky (We livein IL). My ex mother in-law lied to the court saying she didn't know where I was when it came time for school to start there and was granted temp custody, for them to be enroled in school. I have full custody through my divorce in IL. I went to pick up my children, after school got out, and finaly got to see the custody papers, (non were ever sent to me) that state for just to enrol in school. I called people and found out she has to be willing to realease the children to me. Is there some thing I can really do to fight this? And if the children come to Il, do I get custody back with out a fight? Thank you for your time.

Carolyn

you will need KY counsel to file in court for county

where "ex-inlaw" is located, under the Interstate

Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act.

You need to go into Kentucky court and show the judge proof of your custody in Illinois. That is the court with jurisdiction and this cannot be usurped.
