Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

Visitation

My daughters mother and I can not get along and she is constantly rude and screaming at my new wife over everything. I filed for joint custody, visitation and tax filing rights. I was granted this by the court. I have now decided that this situation is not healthy for my other children in the home and want to stop all visitation with my daughter. Can the mother do anything to me legally for stopping my granted visitation? (This may sound harsh, but there is too much to discuss in this little box. It has been extremely hard on my marriage and other children to continue this.)

Re: Visitation

I would much rather see you bring the mother into court for the behavior than sacrifice your daughter. I suspect you could file a motion to hold her in contempt because I bet there are provisions either in an agreement or as a default provision in the local visitation guidelines that addresses how the parents are to treat one another.

If you refuse visits with your daughter now, the damage to her and the long term consequences will be immeasurable.
