Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

i had an argument with a girl from work whos harassed me , she hit me in the arm and i pushed her off of me, i went to the hr office told her what happened ,. the next day my lead man told me my job could not be saved, and it would be better on me if i quit on my own. he said not to tell anyone he told me that. so i go to hr. and tell her i am quitting, she assures me the other girl will lose her job also, its been a week and shes still there i think they dont want to fire her because shes black. ive worked at this place for 26 yrs. with not even a single writre up. do you think i have some kind of discrimination case.

It is almost never "better" for you to quit on your own, particularly when you are being unfairly dismissed if you don't resign. You could be denied unemployment benefits for voluntarily resigning. You should find a local attorney who takes wrongful termination cases and get a full consult. Many attorneys offer free consultations.

Basically, your employer has allowed you to be physically assaulted in the workplace, and is punishing you for reporting it. From these facts, it sounds as though you have grounds for a lawsuit against them. But go for a full consultation so that an attorney can fully evaluate your case.
