Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

Does company have right to say fraud when I got hurt at work?

I got fired a few days ago from a company called Louisville Bedding in Southern, KY. I tore something in my ankle at work and reported it to my supervisor (he didn't fill out an accident report) I than went to the doctor the next day because the pain started to really bother me. He gave me 9 days off from work. I had to go to a workers comp. doctor after that and take a drug test. I passed, and the doctor there said I was ok, but to wear my brace for 3 weeks, but I know it wasn't okay, because I was still in pain. I took the papers back the next day they called me in and said I tried to comit fraud on the company so they fired me. The company turned it into workmens comp. after two days of being off work while still on doctors leave. Do they have any right?

Don't take this lying down, and don't proceed without an attorney! They can't fire you for being injured on the job! You have rights. Protect them! Consult and attorney in your area immediately, or call the KY State Bar Association in Frankfort and ask for Lawyer Referral. You have recourse for this termination, and you should act soon. Good luck.
