Legal Question in Employment Law in Kentucky

Under FMLA can an employer require an employee to call multiple management people to use FMLA for the use stated in paperwork prepared by thier doctor. Also is it legal under HIPPA for employers to require you to state the reason for using FMLA when the paperwork is on file at the HR department.

HIPAA doesn't apply to your relationship with your employer, only your relationship with your doctor. I would say, yes, you need to tell your boss why you are taking medical leave, even if you keep the details vague, and also follow whatever rules they have set up for applying for your leave (so long as those are reasonable and don't violate the law).
