Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Kentucky

Confidentiality Breached

If a teacher goes to the principal over her and the teacher makes it clear that what she is disclosing is in strictest confidence and tells the principal a situation concerning her family that is causing her stress, and then later after the teacher leaves the employee of the school district, does the principal have the right to disclose the information given in confidence at a later date? Doesn't confidential mean forever?

Re: Confidentiality Breached

It is not a legal matter. The alleged "confidence" was purely personal in nature - nothing to do with your employer-employee relationship with the Principal.

It is just a matter of social courtsey that the Principal has breached.

You are not entitled in law for any action against the Principal for this breach of "confidence".
