Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kentucky

Should we accept the settlement without any legal help?

My son was involved in a 2-car accident that resulted in my car being totalled. He went to the er w/some minor contusions and ringing in his ear. He left on crutches w/pain meds. The other party's ins. co. is now offering him $900 to settle for pain & suffering. He hasn't had any further treatment since the night of the accident. Is this a decent amount to settle on or should we try to negotiate further? They initally offered him $800 & he was able to get the offer up to $900.

Re: Should we accept the settlement without any legal help?

Has your son lost time from work and/or school? Are there pictures of the car before and after accident? Are there pictures of your son before and after the accident? What were the medical bills? What was the cost of replacing your car? Are there witnesses to the accident? Who was at fault? How long ago was the accident? Is your son a minor (under 18) or adult? Is there any permanency to any of his injuries?

These are a few of the questions which would need to be answered before anyone could rightfully give even a rough estimate of settlement value.

Sincere best wishes to you and your son.

This settlment sounds very small. However, I can not adequately assess the case without additional information. How much were the medical bills from the Emergency Room?

Please feel free to call my office for further assistance with this matter.
