Legal Question in Personal Injury in Kentucky

What do I do?

On September 18, 2001 I was involved in an accident where I was stopped waiting to turn into a parking lot, I had my blinker on, and a man rammed me from behind. The speed limit is 35 on the road, and from the damage to both vehicles and witnesses you can clearly see he was going somewhere around 50mph, I was injured and taken by ambulance to the hospital, needless to say, I will have to take physical therapy to overcome the stiffness in my neck and back and have been sufferring from very severe headaches ever since. I have never been in a situation like this before and I have no idea what I am entitled to, my husband has been off work since the accident to help me care for our 3 children because I cannot strain enough to do very much for them, I would just like to know what I should do? The other driver's insurance said they will offer me an amount for pain and sufferring, but what would a fair amount be?

Re: What do I do?

Well, it seems disengenious to say, but do not settle this matter without an attorney. You are entitled to lost wages, loss of enjoyment of life, pain and suffering damages, and your husband has a loss of consortium claim as well! Most of all, do not make any statements to an adjustor w/o consulting an attorney, and DO NOT settle this case until you are done treating with your doctor and are 100% healthy again!

I would be happy to consult with you for free on this matter and if you want, I handle many of these cases every year and would be happy to handle your matter. Feel free to call me at 859-491-5800. Best of luck in your recovery.
