Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

After Bankruptcy Discharge

I received a letter from the mortgage company lawyer saying they were to have a court hearing on the house we have a discharge through banruptcy on. I filed the bankruptcy myself I donot have money for lawyers. I would like to know if we are to go to this hearing? The lawyer said it was to get judgement for sale of property.

Re: After Bankruptcy Discharge

You need to go. While the bankruptcy may discharge the debt, the bank has a lien on the property and they probably have received permission to proceed to forclosure and sell the property. That is most likely what this hearing is about. You may have some exemptions, etc. You are doing something very dangerous here.
