Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Kentucky

My Dad and stepmom both died without a will and before my stepmom died, her mother took her keys out of her purse and changed the locks on the house without permission or notifying me or my sister. We live in KY and I need advice on what I can do to keep my stepmother's family from taking what isn't theirs before we go to court and she isn't the executer. I believe she's done this illegally and if I can press charges I will

That's a difficult situation I'm sorry to hear about it. Did your dad and stepmom die at the same time? Do you know who actually owned the house? Your stepmom's mother may or may not have done something illegal. There's no way to know without having the facts. You should see a lawyer right away.
