Legal Question in Banking Law in Louisiana

Power of Attorney
Does a person named as a Power of Attorney for and individual have legal responsibilities to pay any debts incurred by the person he/she represents. I know that good financial records should be kept by the said Power of Attorney but am not sure about debts.
