Legal Question in Technology Law in Louisiana

Personal online information

An internet company has been sending out emails from my address with my home phone, my email address, and my home address along with my full name to other people. Saying that it was sent personally from me, which it was not. One of the people that I know of it being sent to has saved the document. I was wondering if any of this was illegal in anyway. I never gave permission for my personal information to be ''posted'' on the internet, and I sure didn't give them permission to send any emails under my name.

Re: Personal online information

Yes, this is probably criminal and should be reported to appropriate authorities. Some local police departments have established "e-crime" task forces, so best to start there. If that fails, try your state attorney general's office and/or the federal trade commission.

Best wishes,
