Boat Purchase

my son purchased a boat for 8,500. friday. over weekend he took it out and it made a knocking sound.he called man and man said it wasnt his boat or his problem. the bill of sale says as is but was assured it was in excellent condition and states so in ad. its at boat shop now and the mechanic says it isnt a new problem and the owner had to be aware of this problem which will cost over 3,000. to fix.

"As is" means "as is." You get the good, the bad and the ugly. Anyone buying a used vehicle or moveable of any kind should take it to an independent expert to have it examined for soundness.
