do stores have to accept pennies if you are making a purchase
me and my son were refused service at a local grocery store we went there to bye some butter that was only .89 we had 3 rolls of pennies and we were the only ones in the store they said that they don't take pennies because they don't have time to count hem

My guess is they don't have to serve anyone they don't want to unless it violates some state or federal law......I would not ever shop there again and would contact the true owners of the place and tell them nicely what happened and that you were telling everyone what an unfriendly store they have. Owners hate adverse publicity.
