Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana
i was in a car accident and the driver fled the scene.i dont know his name and i have witnesses that he was driving.the law believes i was driving.i was brought 2 the hospital by an ambulance.the cops were at the hospital for a while and then left.i was given no tickets of any sort but they told my wife that i was going 2 be charged with resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.i was knocked unconcious from the wreck and when i regained conciousness i had the cops surrounding me and i guess i went crazy.they tazed me.question is ..can they still charge me for anything considering they didnt give me any tickets.wouldnt they have given me something at release from the hospital?

Yes, they can arrest you or give you a ticket (summons) later. Hire a lawyer & have your witnesses give the lawyer their statements.
