If you are convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, the minimum sentence is 10 years without the possibility of parole. You cannot get probation for this charge.

If you can afford an attorney you need to consult with one fast.

The penalty for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in Louisiana is 10 - 15 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. That means if you are convicted as charged you will have to actually serve the prison time.

Consult a lawyer ASAP.
