What is the legal definition of ''reasonable apprehension'' when only words are used to assault.

Basically, the definition means that the person who is threatened has a reasonable belief that the person doing the threatening may physically harm the person threatened. It can be different depending on the facts and circumstances, the parties involved, their familiarity with each other etc.......for instance, a 6'9" 290# 25 year old defensive tackle being verbally threatened by a 5' 90# 80 year old woman, would probably not lead to any fear on the part of the football player, while it would result in GREAT fear if the roles were reversed......
