Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

I got into some trouble in Texas and I found a lawyer to represent me I'm from Louisiana but went to Texas to visit my cousin I had my gun in my vehicle but I didn not have the papers with me I was pulled over and the police took my weapon I paid a lawyer to represent me in court I had about 3 court dates and still some more to attend the lawyer did not show up the other day and I think I should get a refund of some of my money this is a Texas lawyer please let me know what rights I have

It depends upon the fee agreement you signed with your attorney and the particular facts of your situation. There could have been a good reason: maybe he was sick, or maybe he was in court for another person. Have you spoken to him about it? You should first try to talk to your attorney to settle any dispute you may have with him and the fee. Send a registered letter, return receipt requested. If you reach an impasse, you can then file a complaint to the Texas State Bar Association (Google for the website). If things escalate more, you can talk to an attorney who specializes in legal malpractice ("a lawyer who sues other lawyers").
