Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

child custody and Child support

If I am a resident in Florida and my ex b/f lives in Louisiana, could he take me to court for visitation from another state and would I have to go to court to file for child support? I don't want my ex to have visitation. I currently live in Louisiana but am moving to Florida.

Re: child custody and Child support

If you take the child to Florida without resolving this issue the father can force the case back into Louisiana if he files before the child has lived in Florida for six months. It is probably less stressful to resolve the matter in Louisiana before you go.
