Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Child support payment scale

My son's mother wants to take me back to court to increase my child support payments, my salary is $3,000.00 a month before taxes, what can I expect to pay per month. And does her salary effect my monthly payments, I currently pay $250.00 per month. And her salary is probably around $4000.00 per month.

thanks

Re: Child support payment scale

Basic child support is determined using the combined adjusted monthly gross income of the parents, and applying that to the schedule developed by the legislature. The figure may be more or less depending on a number of variables. For parents grossing $7,000 a month, the basic child support for one child is $886. Your percentage of the combined income is 42.9, and therefore, your basic child support obligation using those figures only, would be $886 X 42.9% = $380.09. Our local court allows a one-month credit for normal visitation, so giving that credit, your basic child support obligation using just the income figures would be $380.09/12 X 11 = $348.42.
