i live in LA and my spouse is a non-citizen w/a green card. however, i just recently found out that he has opened up a bank account in texas and has had his payroll directly deposited there. he has denied me access to everything. he also has changed his mailing address on his employer documents. im seeking to file for a divorce. can i also request alimony from him?

Re: community property

You may always request alimony or spousal support, but you must show a court that you are entitled to receive it.

If you wish to obtain spousal support, you should consult with a lawyer to see what rights you may have.
