my husband is filing for divorce. he seems to think we will be divorce by the end of the month. is this true

Depends on whether you have been separated for 6 months or a year as the case may be and whether you are contesting it.

It depends on how long you have been separated. In Louisiana the separation period has to be at least 6 months, 12 months if you have children.
