Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

the evil stepmom

My ex husband and I have joint custody of our 10-yr old son, with my ex as domiciliary. It has been a nightmare since my ex married his 3rd wife. The woman is very controlling and cannot accept the fact that she is his STEPmom, not his real mom. My son lives with them and I exercise La standard visitation because I live in a different parish due to my career obligation. The stepmom verbally defames me constantly to my son. I know of three occasions in the past two years that she has physically harmed my son---not in the act of discipline, but out of wrath and jealousy of my son and I's close relationship. All of this happens when my ex husband is not around, and my son is scared to tell him about it, so when I confront my ex about it, he thinks my son is lying. What can I do?

Unless you move to change the domicillary custody to yourself, there's not much you can do, legally. Perhaps family counseling could help.
