How hard is it if you want to appeal a "custody case" in Louisiana, in which the decision to award to a parent was primary based on the other parents "character" and failing to file appropriate papers?

It will be difficult to appeal because you will have to show substantial error on the trial court's part. You can ask for a rehearing. The court will decide custody issues in the best interests of the child.
