Legal Question in Family Law in Louisiana

Is there a legal age for a child when he is capable of deciding when he wants to visit or take calls from one of his parents? Another way put, is he legally until the age of eighteen years of age, bound to visit and call the other parent if the other parent is pushing for it?

It depends on whether the Judge deciding the issues thinks the child has the maturity to voice his opinion about visits etc. A ballpark figure is 12, but if the child is very mature, it could be younger. Once a child gets into high school, the court is much more attentive to their desires.
