Legal Question in Medical Leave in Louisiana

My husband and I work for two different state agencies. He has had major surgery and we are both out on FMLA leave. I was told that we would have to share the 240 hours allowed by law because we were both state employees.

Dear LawGuru Friend,

Of course, a specialist in Labor Law

should know the answer without having

to look at a book; but there are few such

specialists who will just up and give you

the answer without charging you an arm

and a leg. Nevertheless, together let's

read the FMLA and the Federal Regulations

and find the answer. If you will, e-mail me

your phone number and the town you are in,

and I will get with you and discuss this matter

with you further. I have access to one of the

best Federal law libraries around, and it will

be a pleasure for me to get back in the Federal

law books, since I have been retired a couple

of years. Nevertheless, I still love the law, legal

research and writing and my lifetime calling of

helping people.

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

I am

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, J.D.
