Legal Question in Health Care Law in Louisiana

My mom has been put on Hospice and made DNR all by my stepfathers doing. They are married and have been for 30 something years. I am a nurse so I am well aware of my mom condition but he has her in a hospice facility where they do nothing but shove morphine and methadone down her throath all day even when she is completel asleep. I spoke with one of the doctors there and he agreed that if my mother nis asleep then the should not be doing that so he took her off the medicine for awhile to see how she would adjust .. Well she was doing fine and then this nurse and my stepfather decided that they wanted to start her back on the medicine again and since he is considered her responsible party that I have no say in the matter. I understand that he is her husband but he is not her healthcare power of attorney or anything like that so how is he the only person who gets to call all the shots. I am so stressed out and it saddens me and has made it difficult to even spend time in that place with my mother at the crucial time. I was even told if I dont stop causing trouble which Im just asking questions as anyone who is going thur this as a family member would.. Said that they would have security escort me out of the facility. So tell me how am I suppose to feel about spending time with my mother in that place Please help give me some answers time is of the essence THEY ARE KILLING HER> i want her to be at home where she belongs even my house is ok.

You can file to have her interdicted and ask to be appointed her curator.
