Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Louisiana

In Louisiana The Age Of Consent Is 17. My girlfriend Is 17 And I Am 23. Her Dad Raped Her When She Was Younger And He Is Drinking Again And Kicked In The Bathroom Door And Tried Raping Her Again While She Was ShowerIng. Can I Get Her Out Of That Horrible Situation And Move Her In With Me Without Getting Myself In Trouble?

Y'all Answered...you should bring her to a police station. If he raped her she can bring the charges and he will have difficulty requiring her to move home. If her mother is alive and away from him, she can be your best ally.

Seeing that mom cannot help, she still has the right to bring the charges. The Court might not consider living at a boyfriend's house in her best interest, but it is far better than living with someone she accused of raping her as a child. She still can report the offense to the police, and the DA can choose to prosecute.

Louisiana law is odd regarding 17 year old persons. Your other choice is for you and her to seek a private lawyer and get advice.
