Legal Question in Employment Law in Louisiana

My employer docks my pay if a cash drawer used by multiple people during my shift comes up short. This does not bring my pay below minimum wage so FLSA doesn't apply but I'm not sure if RS 23:635 protects me from this.

I don't see how an employer could dock your pay for that when you did not have exclusive control over the cash drawer. Employers can force employees to pay for things they are responsible for breaking, losing, taking, etc., but there would be no evidence of that if the drawer was used by multiple parties. I think you should address that with your employer first, before considering legal action.
